In 2019, it was Aktin’s goal to improve their product range by offering a wider variety of products under market demand. They set out to look for private label products, as well as well-known international and local brands. They were specifically looking for natural, organic, dairy-free, meat-free and vegan products.
However, since finding the right suppliers to partner with can be challenging and time-consuming, Aktin was looking for a way to find quality suppliers more efficiently.
One key direction that Aktin took was to partner with Wabel, a company that puts buyers in contact with quality suppliers. Here is the plan Aktin and Wabel put in place together:
1. Identify target suppliers
Wabel took on the responsibility of finding ideal suppliers for Aktin. Out of the hundreds of suppliers in the Wabel community, Wabel was able to narrow down the best-fit groups for Aktin based on their needs. Wabel ended up identifying 23 suppliers for Aktin that supply quality, innovative health & fitness foods.
2. Set up a meeting with the supplier
Next, Wabel arranged times for Aktin to be able to meet with these suppliers during one-on-one, 30-minute meetings. Wabel was able to schedule Aktin meetings with all of their 23 targeted groups within 2 days at the upcoming Wabel Summit.
3. Test the products for themselves
At the Wabel Summit, Aktin then met with their target suppliers including Chocmod, Nero Nobile, Purasana and many others. Aktin buyers were able to test the products and exchange with the various suppliers during their B2B meetings, as well as view the products of hundreds of other suppliers in the Wabel Community.
Results & Future Plans
Today, two months after the Summit, Aktin is seeing very positive results from their exchanges. The 30-minute meetings gave Aktin solid relational foundations with the suppliers, which made it easier to continue their conversation. Aktin is currently negotiating contracts and is specifically interested in working with 5-10 suppliers.
« It’s much better meeting suppliers during Wabel B2B meetings than at an ordinary trade show. Here, we can get the information we need from suppliers in a good environment »
